The village has 127 households, the vast majority of whom are Dan Lai. The Dan Lai are known as the “people who sleep sitting up”. According to some elders, the Dan Lai were originally from the Kinh people who were chased away by the powerful and had to hide in the deep forest. They “sleep sitting up” to avoid wild animals and to easily cope with the pursuit of the royal army. Nowadays, the Dan Lai have settled in some villages in Con Cuong district – Nghe An. |

This was the season of bamboo shoots, the easiest time of the year for the Dan Lai people to earn extra income. |
