The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs notes that agencies and organizations that do not have a fixed two-day holiday schedule every Saturday and Sunday should base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable holiday schedule.

Regarding the 2017 Lunar New Year holiday, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs proposed two options: 7 days and 10 days. In particular, the Ministry proposed 7 days off because the 2-day holiday before Tet is not too short and the 5-day holiday after Tet is not too long, suitable for production, creating conditions for workers to rest and stimulate consumption.
