According to the indictment, in the early morning of May 9, Le Dinh Kien climbed over the fence and broke into the back of the house of Ms. Tran Thi Quy (30 years old, at 33 Ton That Thuyet Street, Tran Phu Ward, Ha Tinh City).
At around 5:30 a.m. the same day, when Ms. Quy's housekeeper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuan (53 years old, residing in Son Tien commune, Huong Son, Ha Tinh) opened the back gate of the house, Kien used a knife to control her.
Kien held a knife to her neck and forced Mrs. Thuan to go to the second floor of the house. Then, he restrained Ms. Quy and her parents-in-law who were present in the bedroom and forced the female homeowner to open the safe and take 75 million VND.
Discovering a savings book in the safe, Kien continued to force Ms. Quy to go to the bank to withdraw 100 million VND, and at the same time used his phone to monitor Ms. Quy remotely. During the withdrawal process at the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) Ha Tinh Branch (No. 88, Phan Dinh Phung Street, Ha Tinh City), Ms. Quy quickly left her information with the bank security guard to inform her family.
