Thailand: Youth soccer team rescue shows positive signs
(Baonghean.vn) - On July 7, the commander of the rescue operation for the trapped soccer team, Mr. Norongsak Osoththnakorn revealed that the rescue teams will try to bring the 13 victims out of Tham Luang cave within the next few days before rains threaten to flood the cave system again.
According to Mr. Osottanakorn, currently and in the next 3 or 4 days, conditions such as weather, water level and the boys' health will reach the most ideal level to bring them out of Tham Luang cave. The rescue team command is holding an urgent meeting to make a clear decision.

Narongsak warned that while oxygen levels in the cave have stabilized, carbon dioxide levels are another factor to consider when evacuating the boys and their coach. There is also concern that the upcoming rains could flood the area where the victims are staying.
In a press conference early on July 7, Mr. Narongsak also said that the boys were not ready to dive out of the cave, but his new statement showed that the situation had changed, with the water level in the cave now reduced to its lowest level thanks to continuous water drainage.
Thai rescue forces are trying to rescue the young soccer team trapped in Tham Luang cave for the past 2 weeks.
Earlier, Thai authorities said rescuers would not attempt to bring the boys out of Tham Luang cave early because their health was still not good and they had not learned the necessary diving skills, but affirmed that the rescue would have to be carried out if there was heavy rain.
In addition, authorities are also considering drilling escape holes from the top of the cave wall.
However, none of the more than 100 escape holes have been able to open to the team's location while the risk of rising water will increase in the coming days due to worsening weather conditions./.
