With this championship, the Thai team has officially surpassed Singapore to become the most successful team in the history of Tiger Cup/AFf Suzuki Cup with 5 championships.
The championship belongs to Thailand is completely deserved when they have shown very impressive performance in this year's tournament.
As for Indonesia, they had to regretfully lose to their opponent to win the championship for the fifth time after missing out in 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2010, losing three times to Thailand.
In the final at Rajamangala, Thailand were the dominant team right from the opening whistle. However, it was not until the 37th minute that they were lucky enough to score the opening goal 1-0.
Starting from a pass from the left wing by Bunmathan, Aryanto tried to block but the ball hit Siroch Chatthong's foot and went straight into the net, to the amazement of thousands of spectators in the stadium.
Right at the beginning of the second half (minute 47), Thailand raised the score to 2-0 and the scorer was still Siroch Chatthong, after a pass from Chanathip.
In the 81st minute, Thailand had a chance to increase the gap but unfortunately Dangda could not defeat Indonesian goalkeeper Meiga on the 11m mark.
In the remaining minutes, Indonesia tried to attack but failed. Not only that, Abdul Lestaluhu was also disqualified in the 90+3 minute for his inappropriate behavior towards Thai team members outside the field.
At the end of the match, Thailand won 2-0, thereby surpassing Indonesia with a total score of 3-2 to successfully defend the title./.
