Tragedy from child custody conflict
Due to conflicts in raising children, the husband murdered his wife, seriously stabbed his sister-in-law and then attempted suicide but failed.
On November 8, the Police Investigation Agency said it had verified the reason why Huynh Van Rit (born in 1993, residing in Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City) murdered his wife, seriously stabbed his sister-in-law, and then attempted suicide but failed.
According to initial information, Huynh Van Rit and Ms. Bui Thanh Thuy (born in 1993) are husband and wife, with 2 children together, HMTr. (6 years old) and HNYN (2 years old).
Before September 2018, Rit and his wife had an argument. After that, Thuy moved back to her mother's house. Thuy wanted to take her two children with her, but Rit did not agree, so she went back to visit her children every day.

On the afternoon of November 5, Ms. Thuy asked her younger brother, Bui Tan Phat (born in 1995), to visit her home and talk to her husband about the intention of bringing her two children back to her mother to take care of. Ms. Thuy asked her grandfather to get the children's clothes. Rit did not agree and screamed.
Suddenly, Rit rushed in and stabbed his wife many times in the neck, causing her to collapse on the spot and die shortly after. Seeing his wife being stabbed, Mr. Phat ran to stop her but was seriously injured by his brother-in-law, so he ran to a neighbor's house for help.
After committing the crime, Rit turned himself in to the police, but on the way, he stabbed himself in the neck with a knife. Afterwards, Rit returned home and did not let anyone approach the scene. Neighbors tried to dissuade him, then took the knife away and took Rit and Phat to the emergency room.
Currently, both Rit and Mr. Phat are out of danger. Rit admitted to the police that due to a conflict over child custody, Rit stabbed his wife and attempted suicide but failed.
