(Baonghean.vn) - To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2014) and the 25th anniversary of the National Defense Day, on the morning of December 18, a delegation from the Provincial People's Committee, led by Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, visited and congratulated officers and soldiers of the armed forces units stationed in the province.

Accompanying them were representatives from the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police Department, the Department of Transportation, and the Provincial Women's Union.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien and his delegation visited and congratulated the 16th Artillery Brigade (Military Region 4) stationed in Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu district. This is the main ground-based combat technical unit of the Military Region. The Brigade focuses on training, combat readiness, command exercises, and consolidating and building the unit. With a rich tradition of 48 years of development, the unit has consistently achieved the title of excellent training unit, a clean and strong Party committee, and outstanding mass organizations for many years. In 2012, the 16th Artillery Brigade was awarded the title of "Unit of Decisive Victory"; in 2013, it received the Military Region's Emulation Flag.

After hearing the unit's report, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the officers and soldiers; and expressed his hope that the unit would continue to uphold its traditions, excellently fulfill its professional duties, and be ready for combat; worthy of being a solid support for the Party committee, government, and people of the locality where it is stationed and of the province.

Next, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien visited the 215th Armored Brigade - Ministry of National Defense (located in Quynh Chau commune, Quynh Luu district). On behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien extended congratulations to all officers and soldiers of the Brigade; hoping that the unit would continue to uphold its revolutionary traditions, achievements, and potential to achieve even more victories in the future. The Vice Chairman of the province emphasized that the unit's success has made a positive contribution to the local development; and expressed his hope that the unit would continue to be closely involved with and assist the locality and the province in forest fire prevention, flood control, emergency response, and social welfare activities.

During a visit to the 206th Armored Brigade (Military Region 4) stationed in Dong Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien acknowledged and congratulated the Brigade on its achievements in the past period; deserving to be the leading unit in combat training for the entire army's armored forces; and having excellently completed its tasks in 2014. The Vice Chairman of the province hoped that the Brigade would continue to closely coordinate with the local Party committee, government, and people to contribute to ensuring national defense and security in the area; and promote local development movements as well as social security activities.

Colonel Le Tien Dung, Commander of the 206th Armored Brigade (Military Region 4), reported on the unit's operational situation.

Representatives from the units expressed their sincere gratitude for the attention of the provincial leaders, and pledged to strive to maintain their leading position and be outstanding examples in the Army's emulation movement for decisive victory. In addition to successfully completing training and combat readiness tasks, the units, depending on their conditions and location, will actively build solidarity between the military and the people, help the people develop socio-economic conditions, and be ready to provide assistance to the people in the event of natural disasters, storms, and floods.
