Appraisal and recognition of 2 communes meeting NTM standards in Nghia Dan

(Baonghean.vn) - The provincial New Rural Appraisal Council has just had a working session with Nghia Tan and Nghia Lien communes (Nghia Dan) to appraise the contents and criteria for recognizing communes that meet New Rural standards.

Up to now, Nghia Dan district has 10/25 communes and towns meeting the National New Rural Standards. The District Steering Committee for New Rural Construction has focused on directing with the spirit of promoting solidarity among the people, combined with support from the Central, the province and the locality to complete the works and projects. Up to now, Nghia Tan and Nghia Lien communes have completed the documents for the provincial level to appraise.

In Nghia Tan commune, after 5 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the local appearance has changed significantly. Infrastructure such as electricity, roads, schools, and stations have been invested in and built to be spacious and clean; meeting the needs of the people.

The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction; average income per capita reached over 31.5 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to 2.5%. Political security has been maintained, social order and safety have been ensured, and the material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved.

The whole commune has mobilized over 98 billion VND for the construction of new rural areas; of which, the people have invested and contributed over 37 billion VND, more than 15,000 working days to build new rural works. 100% of schools in the commune meet national standards; 100% of villages have achieved cultural villages; the rate of cultural families has reached 81%. The rate of workers with regular jobs has reached over 95%... Up to now, Nghia Tan commune has basically achieved 19/19 new rural criteria.

In Nghia Lien commune, more than 111,399 billion VND has been mobilized to complete the NTM criteria. Of which, people contributed nearly 40,727 billion VND in cash, donated more than 15,000 m2 of land, nearly 9,000 working days and invested in renovating houses and alleys.

The whole commune has hardened 100% of commune and inter-commune roads; 74% of village roads; 55% of alley roads. 2/3 of schools in the commune meet national standards. Cultural institutions have been invested in construction; 13/13 hamlets have cultural houses and sports grounds meeting the prescribed standards. The material and spiritual life of the people has been increasingly improved, the average income in 2017 reached 27.1 million VND/person; the poverty rate has decreased to 7.87%.

After inspecting the implementation of the criteria for building new rural areas in two communes, members of the provincial appraisal council gave comments and proposed a number of additional issues in implementing the criteria.

The Appraisal Team agreed that Nghia Tan and Nghia Lien communes met 19/19 criteria for building a new rural area. The two communes were required to complete the procedural documents and send them to the Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for New Rural Area Construction so that the Team could report and submit them to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and recognition of meeting the new rural area standards./.
