Visiting students injured by fallen ancient banyan tree
(Baonghean.vn) - Of the 4 injured students, 1 is currently being treated at the Provincial General Hospital, 1 is being treated at the Tay Bac General Hospital, and 2 are being treated at the commune health station and have returned home.
After the accident caused by a fallen ancient banyan tree on the afternoon of March 31, of the four injured students, two were seriously injured and were taken to Nghe An Northwestern General Hospital for emergency treatment. The other two were treated at the commune health station.
The most serious case was Phan Nguyen Hung Dung, a kindergarten student who suffered a traumatic brain injury and had to be transferred to Nghe An Provincial General Hospital.
This afternoon (April 1), Ms. Phan Thi Anh Nguyet - Vice Principal of Nghia Khanh Primary School said: Currently, Dung's health condition is stable, with no complications. Dung's family is near-poor in Nghia Khanh commune, his father works far away, his mother stays home alone to raise 4 children.
Today, comrade Phan Tien Hai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Nghia Dan district, together with leaders of a number of district-level departments and offices, grasped the situation and visited the children's families.
The delegation visited and gave gifts to encourage Tran Van Linh (born in 2010) in Tho Loc hamlet, Nghia Khanh commune. Linh suffered minor injuries to his head, but is currently in stable health.
Nghia Khanh Commune also assigned people to visit the two children being treated at the provincial and regional hospitals.
He also requested Nghia Khanh commune and the Department of Culture and Information to urgently carry out necessary procedures, clean up around the banyan tree area, and report to the Department of Culture and Sports for the most optimal solution.
The treatment is to cut off unnecessary branches that affect the overall appearance, keeping only the branches that are safe and suitable for the landscape. At the same time, choose a care and repair plan to preserve and promote the district's relics for a long time.

Previously, at around 4:45 p.m. on March 31, part of the banyan tree in Tru village, Nghia Khanh commune suddenly collapsed.brokeninjured 4 students.
The initial cause was determined to be that the tree trunk had signs of long-term rot, causing part of the tree to break.
