'Advice on effective exploitation of tourism resources'

(Baonghean) - Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; candidate for the Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term at constituency No. 25, Cua Lo town.

As Deputy Director of the Department in charge of Tourism, being nominated as a candidate for the Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term is a great honor, but I am also aware of the heavy responsibility of an elected representative. If elected as a representative of the Provincial People's Council for this term, I will strive to study, practice ethics, qualities, improve qualifications and knowledge to perform well the duties of an elected representative, be exemplary in implementing the policies and laws of the Party and State, and be worthy of the trust of voters.

If elected, I will focus on performing well the role and duties of a People's Council representative in accordance with the provisions of the law. Regularly and closely connect with the people, listen to their thoughts and aspirations, fulfill the responsibility of a people's representative; actively participate in meeting voters, fully and honestly reflect voters' aspirations; truly represent the will and aspirations of the people, and be a bridge between voters and state agencies.

Implement the regime of contact and reporting to voters about their activities and those of the People's Council, respond to voters' opinions and recommendations. Participate in receiving citizens, resolving citizens' complaints and denunciations in accordance with the authority prescribed by law.

As a candidate for the Provincial People's Council elected in Cua Lo town and in my working position, I will focus on the following contents:

Firstly: Continue to advise on effectively exploiting Cua Lo tourism resources in a sustainable manner, increasing resources for developing infrastructure and technical facilities; linking Cua Lo tourism with tourist destinations in the province, domestically and internationally.

To solve this problem, I will coordinate with the town to advise the province on the vocational training project and have a regular training program for the existing workforce to meet the quality of human resources; actively coordinate with the EU Project to apply the Tourism Vocational Training Framework Program according to VTOS standards funded by the EU Project in the coming time at vocational training facilities, in order to improve the quality of vocational training facilities in Cua Lo town in particular and Nghe An province in general.

Second: Closely link tourism development with cultural development, especially preserving, maintaining, promoting culture, ethnicity, traditional education, maintaining political security, order, social safety, exploiting islands associated with protecting sovereignty of islands. Pay attention to behavioral culture to demonstrate civilization in tourism, towards a Cua Lo: "Friendly - hospitable - disciplined - brand".

Third: From tourism planning to have a strategy to call for professional investors with financial potential to build a number of key - unique - attractive products, contributing to creating the image of Cua Lo tourism - Nghe An tourism in the eyes of tourists.

Fourth: Coordinate with Cua Lo town to develop a linkage strategy in tourism development associated with the province, from which there will be a strategy to promote and expand the tourist market. Expand regional, provincial and international linkages; prepare a roadmap to exploit international tourism routes through Thanh Thuy Border Gate when conditions are met. Create conditions for Cua Lo to participate with the province to promote the destination of Cua Lo through domestic and international fairs.

Advise the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the People's Council on mechanisms and policies for tourism development, with priority given to the Cua Lo tourist urban area. Strengthen State management of the environment and tourism resources, ensuring sustainable tourism development, responsible tourism, and tourism that is friendly to the natural environment.

From the above mentioned concerns, I personally hope to be elected by voters to the Provincial People's Council for the 2016-2021 term to have the opportunity to implement the set action program.
