Federal judgeGeorge B. Daniels on May 1 declared that the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic are responsible for supporting terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of thousands of innocent people,ABC Newsreport

Iran was ordered to pay $12,500 to each victim's spouse, $8,500 to each parent, $8,500 to each child, and $4,250 to each sibling.

Daniels ruled against Iran in 2011 and 2016, ordering the Islamic Republic to pay victims and insurers billions of dollars in damages and deaths from the hijackings. Iran has not commented on the information.

Robert Haefele, lThe families' lawyers argued that federal courts had found that Iran provided material support to al-Qaeda. However, the 9/11 Commission found no evidence of direct Iranian support, other than that some of the hijackers passed through Iran on their way to Afghanistan without their passports being stamped.
