(Baonghean.vn) –Following Uncle Ho's example, showing love and helping comrades, fellow soldiers, and the people in times of difficulty and hardship has become a regular practice for the militia officers and soldiers of Tay Hieu commune (Thai Hoa). When officers and soldiers are sick or their families face hardship, they visit, encourage, and share with their comrades…

Upon meeting us, Ms. Ho Thi Luyen, from Huong Xuan hamlet, Tay Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town (Nghe An province), couldn't hide her emotion: “My husband just died in a traffic accident. I'm raising two young children alone, and I'm often ill. My coffee garden is overgrown with weeds, and buffaloes and cows constantly come in and destroy it, and I don't know what to do. Luckily, the commune's Military Command mobilized a militia platoon to help my family weed, dig trenches to prevent buffaloes and cows from destroying the garden, and even donated a savings account worth 1 million dong from the armed forces' 'Filial Piety to the People, Warm Comradeship' fund…”

Meanwhile, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tiu, 76 years old, mother of a fallen soldier in Phu Tan hamlet, shared: “I am very grateful to the commune militia for their care and assistance. Every year they come to visit and give me gifts. That is the greatest encouragement for me in my old age. Thank you very much!”

Officers and soldiers of the militia of Tay Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town, Nghe An province, presented gifts under the theme "Warmth of Comradeship" to Comrade Nguyen Thanh Hung, platoon leader of the commune's militia platoon.

Not only Ms. Luyen, Tiu's mother, but over the years, the armed forces of Tay Hieu commune have helped dozens of families of officers and soldiers, as well as policy beneficiaries, families with particularly difficult circumstances, and elderly people living alone, to alleviate their hardships. Speaking with us, Comrade Ho Quang Huy, Commander of the Tay Hieu Commune Military Command, said: “Implementing Directive No. 03-CT/TW of the Politburo on studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, the Commune Military Command has launched the movement “Saving for oneself to help those in need” and the armed forces movement “Filial to the people, warm camaraderie.”

The militia officers and soldiers of the commune have saved on daily expenses, and whenever they participate in training or perform assigned tasks and receive payment, they voluntarily set aside 5,000 - 20,000 VND per day to contribute to a "savings fund" to help comrades and families facing difficulties, elderly people living alone, and those without support. From this savings fund, the commune's armed forces annually provide gifts to 3-4 families of militia officers and soldiers and people in the area.

Following Uncle Ho's example, showing love and helping comrades, fellow soldiers, and the people in times of difficulty and hardship has become a regular practice for the militia officers and soldiers of Tay Hieu commune. Every year, on July 27th, December 22nd, and Lunar New Year, the officers and soldiers of the commune's armed forces organize visits and tặng gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and those who have contributed to the revolution. When officers and soldiers are sick or their families face hardship, they visit, encourage, and share with their comrades…

Besides providing material assistance, the commune's armed forces also support single-parent families and families facing difficulties in reinforcing their houses and harvesting crops. One of the many families that the commune's militia officers and soldiers have helped is the family of Comrade Nguyen Van Phuong, a militia member from Phu Cuong village. Of the four members of his family, three (his wife and two children) suffer from mental illness. He alone has to manage to provide medicine and meals for the whole family. Understanding their situation, every year during the coffee harvest season, the militia members come together to help, and after the work is done, everyone goes home…

Speaking with us, Comrade Kieu Dinh Lam - Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Tay Hieu Commune Military Command - said: “Thanks to effective education and awareness-raising efforts among officers and soldiers, the movement “Saving for oneself, giving to the needy” and the armed forces movement “Filial piety towards the people, warm camaraderie” have become a conscious part of the daily lives of officers and soldiers. In particular, the movement not only attracts officers and soldiers to participate voluntarily and actively, but also has a strong ripple effect on members of each officer and soldier's family, militia, businesses, and the people in the area. The movement has directly helped disadvantaged families gradually improve their lives and achieve stability…”
