Jann-Fiete Arp must seek permission from local authorities to play this weekend.

While on a high, Arp got into trouble that may keep him out of the field this weekend, when Hamburg play at 8:30 p.m. (local time) against Freiburg.

Article 14 of the Law on Protection of Minor Labor stipulates that people under 18 years old are not allowed to work after 8:00 p.m. and before 6:00 a.m.

Arp is a rising star at Hamburg. The 17-year-old striker's form in the reserves earned him a call-up to the first team at the start of the season, making his debut against Bremen.

A few days later, Arp scored his first Bundesliga goal and won the trust of the head coach. He started the next three consecutive matches, and added another goal against Stuttgart.

This forced Hamburg to ask the local authorities for special permission for the 17-year-old striker's case. Because German law also carefully outlines special cases that can be exempted, such as workers participating in music performances and other types of performances.

Jann-Fiete Arp is a player who has surpassed many of his peers. At the age of 15, he was called up to the Hamburg U17 team, scoring 37 goals in 45 matches. In 2017, this prodigy played with the German U17 team in the U17 Euro, scoring seven goals.
