Convincingly defeating Japan, Qatar wins Asian Cup 2019

After the referee's whistle, Qatar was the team that took the lead thanks to two shining moments of individuals. In the 12th minute, Almoez Ali confidently handled the Japanese defenders and then leaned over to skillfully finish, leaving goalkeeper Gonda helpless. 15 minutes later, it was Abdulaziz Hatem's turn to put his name on the scoreboard with an unstoppable long-range shot.

Continuing the momentum, Qatar pushed up their attack and almost scored a third goal after captain Hassan Al Haidos' shot hit the post.

VAR awarded Qatar a penalty and Akram Afif did not miss the opportunity to finish off the "Blue Samurai". The match ended with a 3-1 victory for Qatar. Coach Felix Sanhez's team had a dream journey at the 2019 Asian Cup, winning the championship for the first time in history with an impressive goal difference of 19-1.
