Thanh Chuong: 205 villages recognized as Cultural Villages

(Baonghean(vn) - To date, Thanh Chuong district has 146 cultural agencies and units; 9 units have been awarded the title of "Cultural Unit" by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; there are 15 cultural clans; and 205 villages have been recognized as "Cultural Villages". The percentage of "Cultural Families" in 2015 is estimated at 83%.

On September 30th, Thanh Chuong district held a conference to summarize 15 years of implementing the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement (2000-2015); 20 years of implementing the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life in Residential Areas" campaign (1995-2015); and 10 years of implementing Decision 308/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister promulgating regulations on implementing civilized lifestyles in weddings, funerals, and festivals (2005-2015).

The implementation of the new rural development program has received active participation and support from all sectors of the population. From 2010 to 2015, the people of Thanh Chuong donated 285,472 square meters of land, 6.454 billion VND, and 8,469 man-days of labor for the construction of new rural areas.

Effective work in disseminating and educating the public about the law, especially in preventing social evils, has been achieved. Weddings, funerals, and festivals have been actively supported by all segments of the population, contributing to the improvement of cultural life at the grassroots level. These results have made a positive contribution to the economic, cultural, and social development, maintaining national defense and security, and building a more prosperous Thanh Chuong homeland.

The conference elected 7 outstanding collectives and 2 outstanding individuals in various fields to attend the provincial-level conference; awarded the "For the Cause of Culture, Sports, and Tourism" commemorative medal to 5 individuals; and presented certificates of merit from the Chairman of the District People's Committee to 37 collectives and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements.
