Trua Temple and Nguyen Van family church in hamlet 8B, Thanh Phong commune were built at the end of the post-Le dynasty to worship ancestors and predecessors of the Nguyen Van family who had great contributions to the homeland and country, such as Nguyen Van Tiem (15th century), Nguyen Van Duoc (17th century), Nguyen Van Sam (18th century)...

During the revolutionary movement of 1930-1931, when the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee was severely terrorized by the enemy in Thanh Phong, Trua Temple was the meeting place for party members and cadres. During the resistance war against the US, the Nguyen Van family temple was used as a warehouse for military supplies and uniforms for the troops of Military Region IV, and later, along with a number of other churches in the area, it was used as the office of the Nghe An Provincial Planning Committee...
