Thanh Chuong: Giving houses of love to poor families
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 2, the Thanh Chuong District Women's Union coordinated with the People's Committee of Phong Thinh Commune to organize a handover ceremony of the "Warm House of Love" house to the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - a member with difficult circumstances in the area.
Ms. Thanh is a disabled woman, raising 2 children alone, the youngest of whom is in 8th grade. The family's circumstances are extremely difficult. For the past years, she and her children have lived in a dilapidated house.
After construction, the two-room house has an area of 28 m2has been completed and put into use. The cost of building the house is 66 million VND, of which the District Women's Union supported 20 million VND, the Phong Thinh Commune Fatherland Front Committee supported 10 million VND, and the brothers' families contributed 36 million VND.
At the ceremony, the villagers supported Ms. Thanh and her children with 55 kilos of rice, and the Women's Union of Phong Thinh commune gave a gift worth 500,000 VND.
Previously, the Thanh Chuong District Women's Union and the Thanh Chi Commune People's Committee also held a handover ceremony for the "Warm House of Love" house to the family of Ms. Pham Thi Hoa - a member of the women's union with especially difficult circumstances in Lien Son hamlet. The 2-room house cost more than 60 million VND to build, of which the District Women's Union supported 20 million VND, the Commune Women's Union mobilized women to get 4 million 900 thousand VND, the rest was contributed by brothers and families.

It is known that this year, the Thanh Chuong District Women's Union has mobilized more than 200 million VND in donations; organized the construction of 6 "Warm Houses of Love" for women's families in especially difficult circumstances in Thanh My, Thanh Ngoc, Thanh Chi, Thanh Yen, Thanh Tuong and Phong Thinh communes; awarded 27 scholarships, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor students who have overcome difficulties and achieved high academic achievements./.
