Establishment of the first tuition-free private school
On July 24, the People's Committee of Long An province handed over the decision to announce the establishment of Bo De Phuong Duy Primary - Secondary - High School to Long Thanh Pagoda, in Thu Thua town, Thu Thua district, Long An province. This is the first school in the province that does not collect tuition fees and is also the first school in the country managed and operated by a religious organization to be granted an official decision to enroll and train students according to the national education system.

The school was newly built on an area of 1,200m2, including 9 classrooms, 2 practice laboratories, 1 library and kitchen, which can serve 100 students enrolled in the first school year 2012-2013. The school has completed the first phase with a budget of 2.5 billion VND. After being put into operation, the school will continue to build more to serve the teaching and learning needs of students.
From the following school years, the school can stably enroll about 120 students for all three levels, who are in difficult circumstances, have dropped out of school or are at risk of dropping out of other public and private schools.
The school has 12 permanent teachers at primary, secondary and high school levels. The school is under the provincial Department of Education and Training, operating under the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. The school's funding is mobilized from 3 sources: Truong Son Paper and Paper Packaging Production and Trading Company Limited (Thu Thua), sponsors and visitors, tourists and temple visitors.
