In recent days, farmers in Hung Son commune have been harvesting corn along the Lam River. While everyone is busy with the harvest, Mr. Pham Van Niem’s family in village 6 has to focus on taking their loved one to the hospital.
Mr. Niem is seriously ill and is being treated in Vinh City. His wife has to go take care of him. Mr. Niem's family has a son, Pham Van Anh, who has just joined the army (March 2018), so there is no labor while the corn is ready to be harvested.
Faced with that situation, the Hung Son Commune Youth Union mobilized union members and youth in the commune to harvest corn for Mr. Niem’s family. With a spirit of urgent and enthusiastic work, in one afternoon, more than 10 union members and some people from the local self-management group finished harvesting 7 sao of corn at Mo beach.![]() |
