Entering the store pretending to buy an iPhone for his wife, the young man took a photo of the smartphone, looked at it, and then suddenly ran away. The police extracted the store's camera to investigate.
On September 20, an employee at a phone store on Quan Nhan Street, Cau Giay District (Hanoi) posted a video on social media showing a young man coming in to buy a smartphone and then running away with it.
According to the store representative, that afternoon, the young man asked to buy a used iPhone 6 Plus for his wife. The two sides agreed on a price of 6 million VND for the smartphone.
Holding the phone in his hand, the man stood next to the counter to use it and take pictures. He gradually moved outside, still holding the phone.
At that time, the salesman was repairing a customer's phone. Taking advantage of the moment, the young man took the iPhone and ran away.

According to the clip, seeing the customer run away, the seller immediately shouted and chased after him but could not catch up. Afterwards, the victim reported the incident to the local police station.
A store representative said that the same evening, a young man called to return his smartphone. On the morning of September 21, someone claiming to be the young man’s family came to the store, asking to return the property and requesting that the clip be removed from the internet. However, by noon on September 21, the young man in the clip still had not brought his phone to the store.
The Trung Hoa Ward Police Commander said that upon receiving the report, the police sent officers to record the scene, extract video and track down the suspect to retrieve his phone for clarification.
