Ho Chi Minh City disciplines a number of officials and Party members.
Many officials and Party members in Ho Chi Minh City have been disciplined for violations committed during their work.
On the afternoon of January 10th, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a conference to summarize the work of inspection, supervision, and Party discipline in 2017 and to outline key directions and tasks for 2018.
According to the report of the City Party Committee's Inspection Commission, in 2017, Party committees at all levels conducted inspections of 2,566 Party organizations and 2,605 Party members, while also supervising 1,975 Party organizations and 2,270 Party members.

In addition, seven party members were disciplined, including three who were removed from all their party positions. These are Ms. Nguyen Thi Tim, Deputy Secretary and Head of the Party Committee's Inspection Committee of the Central Industrial Enterprises Bloc in Ho Chi Minh City for the 2015-2020 term; Mr. Huynh Tan Dung, former member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs for the 2010-2015 term; and a former Party member who served as Party Branch Secretary and Head of the Urban Management Department of District 7 from 2012-2017.
In addition, two people were disciplined with a reprimand: Mr. Huynh Van Hanh, former Secretary of Tan Phu District for the 2010-2015 term, and Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan, Secretary of Binh Tan District.
Two party members were disciplined with a warning: Mr. Tran Trung Dung, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Organization Department and former Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; and Mr. Le Trong Hieu, Deputy Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and former Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of District 7.
In addition, Party committees at all levels and Party branches disciplined 447 people, including 312 who received reprimands, 105 who received warnings, 18 who were dismissed from their positions, and 12 who were expelled from the Party.
The main violations involved failing to comply with working regulations, regulations on the decentralization of personnel management, personnel appointments, handling of complaints, and failure to strictly adhere to resolutions, directives, and regulations of the Party.
Furthermore, Party organizations and individuals also violate regulations by showing irresponsibility in performing assigned tasks; violating ethical standards and lifestyles; and exhibiting ideological and political degeneration.
