Ho Chi Minh City firmly holds the top position
(Baonghean.vn) - The penultimate competition day of the National Phu Dong Sports Festival marked the success of the Nghe An taekwondo athletes with the gold medal for the women's team.
On the last day of the taekwondo event, athletes competed for medals in all team events. The Nghe An delegation satisfied the home audience with a victory over the Hai Phong team of three athletes Hoang Thi Tuyet, Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Nguyen Thi Van and brought home the second gold medal in this event.
After 5 days of competition, the taekwondo athletes from Ho Chi Minh City ranked first, followed by the Hanoi and Da Nang teams. The Nghe An team with 2 gold medals and 5 bronze medals ranked 10th out of 21 participating teams.

Today, karate has also finished its last day of competition. As expected, the Ho Chi Minh City team was the first team. Next were the Hanoi and Dong Thap teams. The Nghe An team ranked 5th out of 37 teams with 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 02 bronze medals, exceeding the set target.
In athletics, at the end of the tournament, the Hanoi athletics team was the top team. Next were the Ho Chi Minh City team and the Thanh Hoa team. The Nghe An team ranked 10/46 teams with 1 silver medal.

In pole push, today athlete Do Thi Ngoc Son brought home a bronze medal for the team. This is also the only bronze medal of Nghe An in this sport.
On the medal table, Ho Chi Minh City delegation is ranked first with 89 gold medals. Nghe An delegation, dropped one place compared to yesterday, is in 14th place.
