Vinh City honors 65 outstanding grassroots trade union officials.
On the morning of July 28th, the Vinh City Federation of Labor Unions organized a ceremony to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024) and to honor outstanding grassroots trade union officials for the period 2019-2024.
Attending the program were representatives from the Provincial Labor Federation; the Vinh City Party Committee and People's Committee; various departments, agencies, political and social organizations of the city, along with the chairpersons of grassroots trade unions and outstanding grassroots trade union officials from the Vinh City Trade Union.
At the commemoration ceremony, recalling the history and glorious traditions of the Vietnam Trade Union organization, Mr. Thai Le Cuong - Chairman of the Vinh City Federation of Labor - summarized the struggle and emulation movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers, and the Trade Union organization of Nghe An province in general, and Vinh City Trade Union in particular.
To celebrate95 yearsSince the establishment of the Vietnam Trade Union, trade unions at all levels in Vinh City have strived to compete and organize many vibrant, diverse, rich, and meaningful activities, bringing many practical benefits to union members and workers.
This includes promoting the glorious 95-year tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union and the Vietnamese working class; studying, understanding, disseminating, and publicizing the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union and the Resolutions of the Trade Union Congresses at all levels for the 2023-2028 term. Attention is also paid to developing union membership, establishing grassroots trade unions, and recommending outstanding union members to the Party.
The Vinh City Federation of Labor also organized a competition for outstanding grassroots trade union officials; visited, presented gifts, and provided assistance to trade union officials, former trade union officials, union members, and workers in difficult circumstances, those who suffered work accidents or occupational diseases; commenced construction and presented "Trade Union Shelter" houses; organized "Trade Union Meals"; and organized vibrant cultural, artistic, and sports exchange activities…
The Chairman of the Vinh City Federation of Labor Unions affirmed that the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union is an opportunity for cadres, union members, workers, and the people of the heroic Red City to review and promote the glorious traditions of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization; to strive to compete and resolutely achieve the goals and targets set by the 24th Vinh City Party Congress, term 2020-2025.
At the ceremony, the Vinh City Federation of Labor awarded the Commemorative Medal for the Cause of Building the Trade Union Organization to 7 individuals; launched 10 grassroots trade unions and honored 65 outstanding grassroots trade union officials.
