Vinh City has a new Vice Chairman
(Baonghean.vn) – On the morning of December 22, at the 12th session, the 20th Vinh City People's Council elected Mr. Le Sy Chien (Former Vice Chairman of Hoang Mai Town People's Committee) to hold the position of Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term.
Attending the meeting were comrades: Vo Viet Thanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee; Hoang Trong Kim, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Construction.

Mr. Le Sy Chien was born in 1966, his hometown is Quynh Vinh commune, Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province. Mr. Chien has a Master's degree in Science and Technology Management; high-level political qualifications. Before working at Vinh City People's Committee, Mr. Le Sy Chien held the position of Vice Chairman of Hoang Mai Town People's Committee.
Previously, the Vinh City People's Council also approved the Proposal on the dismissal of Mr. Bui Nguyen Toan from the position of Standing Member of the Vinh City People's Council, term XX, 2011-2016; at the same time approved the Proposal on the nomination and election of Mr. Vo Khac Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Quan Bau Ward, Vinh City to hold the position of Standing Member of the Vinh City People's Council, term 2011-2016.

Also at this session, Vinh City People's Council reviewed the results of implementing tasks in various fields in 2015 and the direction of tasks in 2016. In 2015, Vinh City basically achieved and exceeded 21/21 targets. Economic growth rate reached 8.6%; total budget revenue reached over 1,500 billion VND.
The service industry's production value reached over 16,000 billion VND, up 10.8% over the same period. The industrial and construction production value reached over 17,000 billion VND. The city also did a good job of urban beautification and flood control in the area.
The quality of education continues to improve, with an estimated 3 schools recognized as meeting national standards, bringing the total number of schools meeting standards to 67, reaching nearly 82%. The poverty rate in Vinh City is only 0.68%. The average added value per capita is 76 million VND.

In 2016, Vinh City set a target of 9-10% increase in production value, with added value per capita (calculated according to the new method) reaching 67.2 million VND. Total budget revenue in the city's management area reached more than 1,800 billion VND. The number of communes meeting new rural standards in the year was 2 communes. The 12th session of the People's Council of Vinh City, term XX, took place over two days (December 22-23, 2015).
