Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan - Vice Chairman of Cua Nam Ward People's Committee said that the aquatic plants that the ward has proposed to plant include: lotus, water lily, bamboo and some other aquatic plants. There will be 6 pilot planting locations, with planting plans in the positioning frames, to both create shape, create landscape, improve the environment and ensure the drainage capacity of Vinh Citadel moat.
Regarding the need to regulate the amount of water in the Citadel moat, according to Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, through field surveys, it was found that the amount of water in the Citadel moat was quite high, about 0.6m above the bottom of the moat. In addition, the amount of mud and garbage was relatively large, making it unfavorable for pilot planting of aquatic plants.

During this time, 5 days will be spent cleaning and disinfecting the 6 locations identified for pilot aquatic plant planting; immediately after this work is completed, the consulting unit will carry out pilot planting, so that the aquatic plants can take root within 10 - 15 days.

“This plan will be implemented right after the National Day holiday on September 2. The ward has planned to implement it in the direction of planting water bamboo, which is the best type of tree for treating environmental pollution and has a dark green color, in floating rafts maintained all year round. Interspersed with water bamboo, lotus will be planted in shapes (checkered, round, etc.) according to the season. Water lilies will be planted in between.
