Vinh City organizes a ceremony to launch a campaign against drug abuse.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 2, 2015, Vinh City held a ceremony to launch a drug prevention campaign, in response to the Month of Action against Drugs and the National Day for Drug Prevention on June 26.

City police leaders inaugurated the launch ceremony for the intensified anti-drug campaign.

In the first six months of 2015, the Vinh City police force investigated and arrested 176 cases involving 193 individuals for illegal drug trafficking and possession. They also established and dismantled 5 major drug trafficking rings, arresting 12 individuals and eradicating 42 drug retail points. However, the drug crime situation in Vinh City remains complex.

To strengthen the fight against crime and drug abuse, at the launching ceremony, the Vinh City People's Committee assigned specific tasks to mass organizations and functional forces to effectively implement the fight against drug abuse, and organized parades on main streets to raise public awareness about the harmful effects of drugs so that everyone says no to drugs and joins hands in effectively combating drug abuse.
