Vinh City launches 'Clean up the World Campaign'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 21, the Vinh City Women's Union coordinated with the Provincial Environmental Protection Fund to organize a waste collection launch ceremony in response to the "Make the World Cleaner" Campaign.
The "Clean Up the World" campaign was initiated in 1993 in Australia and launched globally by the United Nations Environment Program, held periodically in the third week of September every year.

This is also an annual activity held for many years atVinh City. This year, the program in coordination with the Environmental Protection Fund implemented a variety of contents such as propaganda to change women's awareness of environmental protection; effectively implementing the Campaign "building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean's", focusing on the content of 3 cleans: clean house, clean alley, clean environment.
The program also aims to maintain and effectively promote the models that the Association has built from the movement "City women implement urban civilization" including: green, clean, beautiful roads, self-managed roads; launch and effectively implement "Green Sunday" on the first Sunday of every month.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, more than 300 cadres and members of the Women's Union of Truong Thi, Hung Dung, Hung Binh, Trung Do, Vinh Tan, Hung Phuc wards and Hung Loc commune started cleaning up key roads of the city such as Truong Thi, Phan Dang Luu, Ho Tung Mau, Ho Goong area, Nguyen Tat Thanh park, Ho Chi Minh Square./.
"Vinh City currently has more than 74,000 households; thousands of students and workers from other places come to live and work and study. Currently, the city has about 250 tons of waste discharged into the environment every day, so the risk of environmental pollution is very high. The city is still not truly green, clean and beautiful everywhere.
