Vinh City: Implementing the 2013 Constitution

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 9th, Vinh City held a conference to implement the 2013 Constitution for key officials at the city level and in wards and communes.

Mr. Tran Van Mao presented the basic contents of the 2013 Constitution.

At the conference, Mr. Tran Van Mao, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, directly presented the implementation of the 2013 Constitution. He emphasized the necessity of amending the 1992 Constitution and the purpose and significance of the 2013 Constitution.

The amendment of the 1992 Constitution aims to ensure comprehensive economic and political reforms, build a socialist rule of law state in Vietnam of the people, by the people, and for the people, perfect the socialist-oriented market economy, better guarantee human rights, the fundamental rights and obligations of citizens, and protect the Fatherland; and actively and proactively integrate into the international community. The new Constitution reflects the will and aspirations of our people, ensuring a solid political and legal foundation for the entire nation to overcome the difficulties and challenges of the new era, and confidently move forward into a period of comprehensively accelerating national reforms and proactively integrating into the international community.

In addition, the conference also absorbed the basic contents of the 2013 Constitution, comprising 11 chapters and 120 articles (a reduction of 1 chapter and 27 articles compared to the 1992 Constitution), which clearly and comprehensively regulates the political, economic, social, cultural, educational, scientific, technological, and environmental systems; human rights, fundamental rights and obligations of citizens; national defense; and the organization of the state apparatus... Therefore, the implementation of the Constitution is identified as a key task that needs to be prioritized and directed in 2014 by the entire political system, the entire Party, the entire army, and the entire people in the province, contributing to the realization of the Constitution's provisions in all areas of social life.

Also at the conference, Vinh City implemented its plan for enforcing the Constitution so that the new Constitution could soon come into effect.
