Inspecting 3 press agencies, revoking 10 press cards in the third quarter

In the third quarter of 2016, the Press Department inspected 3 press agencies and revoked 10 press cards. In the near future, the data entry of press cards will be implemented to integrate with the Information Portal of the Ministry of Information and Communications to meet the requirements of level 3 public administrative services.

The information was just announced by Director of the Press Department Luu Dinh Phuc at the State Management Conference of the third quarter of 2016 of the Ministry of Information and Communications held this afternoon, October 5, 2016, in Hanoi.

“In the third quarter of 2016, we inspected 3 press agencies and revoked 10 press cards, including 1 editor-in-chief and 1 deputy editor-in-chief whose press cards were revoked and dismissed; 4 cases had their cards revoked and were forced to resign. In the coming time, we will continue to review the principles and purposes of press agencies, and continue to propose handling of personnel of press agencies that violate the law,” said Director Luu Dinh Phuc.

In particular, Director Luu Dinh Phuc said that in the coming time, the data entry of press cards will be implemented soon to integrate with the information portal of the Ministry of Information and Communications to meet the requirements of level 3 public administrative services.

Another content shared by the Director of the Press Department at the conference was the implementation of regulations on speaking and providing information to the press in state administrative agencies.

“The Ministry of Information and Communications is responsible for periodically inspecting the implementation of the regulations on speaking and providing information to the press by state administrative agencies to report to the Prime Minister. In the coming time, after the Decree on speaking regulations is issued, the Department will report to the Ministry's leaders to deploy the Ministry of Information and Communications to periodically inspect the implementation of the regulations on speaking and providing information to the press by ministries and administrative agencies nationwide. This will help the Government do a better job of providing information to the people,” said Mr. Luu Dinh Phuc.
