At 5:30 p.m. on November 4, 2020, the Drug Crime Prevention Department, Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard co-chaired and coordinated with Thanh Thuy Border Gate Customs Sub-Department to patrol the border section near marker 462 to prevent illegal border crossings.

During the patrol, a group of people were discovered illegally crossing the border. When they saw the patrol force, the people took advantage of the rugged mountainous terrain, thick fog, and drizzle to flee towards the other side of the border.
