(Baonghean) - With many good practices, many previously poor localities in Thanh Chuong have also made efforts, surpassed themselves, removed deadlocks in thinking and action to develop strongly.

Exactly 87 years ago, on the evening of August 31, early September 1, 1930, with the seething revolutionary spirit, the Party organization led a large demonstration with the participation of more than 20,000 farmers from 5 communes across the district, marching to Thanh Chuong district office with the spirit of "waterfall, rising tide", forcing the district magistrate, officials, and soldiers to flee. And on the afternoon of September 1, 1930, the Soviet government was established in Thanh Chuong.

The historical event of September 1, 1930 in Thanh Chuong became a symbol of the uprising spirit of Thanh Chuong people and became the traditional day of Thanh Chuong Party Committee. Over the past 87 years, each time celebrating the traditional day of the district, Thanh Chuong Party Committee and people have more motivation and a greater sense of responsibility towards the development requirements of their homeland.

Thanh Thuy, a border commune bordering Laos, previously had a mainly "self-sufficient" economy. Now, thanks to the development of transportation and infrastructure, it has really helped the cadres and people here to broaden their awareness, break the blockage in their thinking to do big business. Talking about doing big business, because in Thanh Thuy now there are many households that have hectares of tea, dozens of hectares of acacia, raising dozens of buffaloes and cows, hundreds of pigs, chickens...

According to Thanh Thuy people's calculations, each hectare of tea also has about 70 million VND per year and each hectare of paper material forest planted within 4 - 5 years, after deducting expenses, also earns 50 million VND. There are households that currently own 15 - 20 hectares of forest, within 4 - 5 years have about 1 billion VND; households that own 2 - 5 hectares of tea, each year have an income of 150 - 350 million VND.

Chairman of Thanh Thuy Commune People's Committee Phan Duy Trinh said: In the period of worrying about enough food, Thanh Thuy was listed as having difficulties when agricultural land was scarce, infertile, mainly forests and mountains. Now food is no longer a concern, Thanh Thuy has advantages to develop commodity economy. In addition to stabilizing the existing 430 hectares of tea for business and 3,000 hectares of raw material forests, Thanh Thuy is focusing on putting orange trees into production according to the project and planning to develop a number of commodity crops, creating raw material areas associated with processing and consuming products of the district.

At this time, the whole commune has planted 6 hectares of oranges. At the same time, the development of buffaloes, cows, pigs and chickens has been promoted by establishing farms and ranches. Typically, Mr. Nguyen Sy Thin's household raises nearly a hundred cows and many households raise from 10 to 70 cows. In addition, people have boldly developed services along the Ho Chi Minh road and the Ho Chi Minh road extension to Nam Dan, Uncle Ho's hometown. Currently, in the commune, there are 7 households directly providing tea bud purchasing services, associated with tea processing and consumption, earning hundreds of millions of dong in profit each year. And in the near future, when the Thanh Thuy border gate is open for trade and the Vientiane - Hanoi highway passing through Thanh Thuy is put into use, it will certainly create momentum for Thanh Thuy to develop "acceleratedly".

With a large area of forests and mountains, in recent years, Hanh Lam has known how to turn limitations into advantages, focusing on developing the forest economy, in which tea trees and paper trees are the two main crops. Particularly for tea trees, new varieties with good productivity and quality have been gradually introduced to replace local tea varieties, combined with the application of science and technology in care, harvesting, and processing, creating higher value for tea trees. This is also a locality with strong development of buffalo and cattle herds, with a total herd of 3,800. Many farming households have appeared with effective farm economy, such as Mr. Phan Dinh Lien's family (Hamlet 1) growing 15 hectares of tea, paper trees and dozens of buffaloes, cows, pigs, and hundreds of hill chickens; or Mr. Nguyen Van Diem's family raising 65 cows and dozens of hectares of tea, paper trees...

Secretary of the Party Committee of the commune, Tran Van Hieu, affirmed: The awareness and thinking of cadres, party members and people of Hanh Lam are being raised. The clearest evidence is the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, which has been actively and effectively implemented by the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, organizations and people. Currently, Hanh Lam has completed 15/19 criteria to strive to reach the new rural finish line by the end of 2017.

Many previously poor localities in Thanh Chuong have also made efforts, surpassed themselves, removed deadlocks in thinking and action to develop strongly such as Thanh Lien, Thanh Tien, Dong Van, Thanh Van, ... The face of Thanh Chuong's countryside is improving day by day. In addition to the Ho Chi Minh road system, the Ho Chi Minh road extending to Uncle Ho's hometown, National Highway 46, Dung bridge, Ro bridge, Rang bridge "connecting the happy shores", some roads in the area have been upgraded to National Highway 7B, National Highway 46C, Provincial Road 533; nearly 700/800 km of intra-village and intra-hamlet roads have been asphalted and concreted through the new rural construction program, and the beautiful and civilized rural face has gradually become clear.

According to comrade Nguyen Van Que - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee, in the spirit of the Resolution of the 29th Thanh Chuong District Party Congress, term 2015 - 2020, with the great political determination of the Party Committee and people of the entire district, since the beginning of the term, Thanh Chuong has created many positive changes in many aspects of socio-economy, national defense - security and Party building, political system at all levels.

Some plants and animals identified by the district as key: Tea, cassava, V2 oranges, Dien grapefruit; buffaloes, cows, pigs continue to increase their income value, contributing to improving the lives of a large number of people. In particular, Thanh Chuong grass chicken has been recognized as a collective brand. In parallel with agriculture, on the basis of some existing projects, the district continues to attract some new projects such as Cau Cau mixed-use tourism, service and resort project, with a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND; biomass pellet fuel plant project in Thanh Huong commune; coordinate with the Provincial Investment Promotion and Support Center to survey the chicken farming project using modern European technology in Thanh Xuan commune, with a total investment of 40 million Euros... This is an open direction for new development in the revolutionary homeland of Thanh Chuong in the coming time.
