On the morning of June 16th, marking the beginning of the 5th working week of the 7th session, under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Uong Chu Luu, the National Assembly discussed in the plenary hall the draft Law on the Organization of the National Assembly (amended).

After incorporating and revising the opinions and suggestions from delegates in their respective groups, the draft law will continue to be discussed and clarified, addressing both theoretical and practical issues related to major aspects. First and foremost is the scope of regulation, and the codification of certain rules and key activities within the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly Session, the Regulations of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Council of Ethnic Minorities, and the Committees of the National Assembly.

National Assembly delegates also focused on organizational issues, including the positions and related matters of National Assembly delegations, the National Council, and National Assembly committees; the policy of upgrading the Standing Committee's departments into National Assembly departments; and some National Assembly positions.

In particular, the discussion will focus on Chapter II of the draft law on National Assembly deputies – considered the central content of the Law, with provisions on the number of full-time deputies, mechanisms, and conditions to ensure the operation of National Assembly deputies.

Also during today's working session, the National Assembly voted to pass the Law on Entry, Exit, Transit, and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.

In addition, the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) was also discussed by National Assembly deputies.
