Discussing solutions to improve Nghe An's PAPI score
(Baonghean.vn) - How can Nghe An ensure that its ranking and relative assessment of the PAPI Index are more stable in the coming years is the content that delegates focused on discussing at the working session between the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and the Department of Home Affairs.

Speaking to the delegation of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Dau Van Thanh said: In 2018, Nghe An made a breakthrough, ranking 4th nationwide in the PAPI Index. However, through analysis of component indexes, it shows that even in the content axes where Nghe An scored high, there are still component contents with low scores.
Furthermore, the 2018 results are only initial. Without positive solutions to promote the achieved results, the sustainability of those results will be difficult to maintain.

“Therefore, the question is how Nghe An can ensure that its PAPI ranking and relative assessment are more stable in the coming time. At the same time, how to continuously improve Nghe An’s absolute PAPI score and ensure that the absolute score achieved in 2018 will continue to be maintained and promoted in the following years,” the head of the Nghe An provincial Department of Home Affairs wondered.

The Director of the Department of Home Affairs said that in 2018, two new content axes were included in the assessment, "Environmental Management" and "E-Governance" with many new issues requiring high updating and knowledge supplementation.
At the meeting, delegates focused on exchanging and discussing the assessment of factors affecting the effectiveness of public administration. From there, they studied feasible solutions to achieve the goal of improving the effectiveness of public administration.

In particular, the focus is on creating fundamental changes in awareness and improving skills for government officials at all levels, especially at the grassroots level, to increase people's satisfaction with government activities at all levels in the coming years; contributing to building a modern, professional, transparent, and effective public administration to serve the people better and better.
