Previously, at around 3 p.m. on February 9, many people in Quynh Doi village were burning incense at the Ho Sy Duong temple when they discovered smoke rising from behind. People shouted and beat the village drums to call each other to put out the fire. However, because the fire started from behind and had been smoldering since before, when it was discovered, the main temple inside had already been burned to the ground.

The initial cause was determined to be due to many people coming to burn incense, the incense sticks caught fire and spread to other places.
