For most of the first half, U16 Australia took the initiative on the field. The advantage in physique and physical strength is helping the opponent team of U16 Vietnam to promote their strength. Meanwhile, coach Vu Hong Viet's students were very active in shooting from a distance but did not create any danger.

Vietnam U16's attacks were often broken up from the midfield area and Australia U16 played very fiercely in one-on-one situations. In the last minutes of the first half, Australia U16 put a lot of pressure on goalkeeper Duy Dung's goal but after the first 45 minutes of the match, the score was still 0-0.

In the second half, both U16 Vietnam and U16 Australia appeared to be stuck in attack, with no clear opportunities created. However, in the 60th minute, a momentary lapse of concentration by the U16 Vietnam central defenders created an opportunity for captain Savas to open the score 1-0 for U16 Australia.

Conceding a goal, U16 Vietnam not only failed to find an equalizer but also conceded another goal in the 72nd minute. The red shirt defenders were confused in defending the ball, allowing Ryan Teague to double the gap.

After conceding two quick goals, coach Vu Hong Viet continuously reinforced the attack but the defense continued to make mistakes and conceded a penalty in the 79th minute. And on the 11m mark, Tristan Hammond successfully executed the penalty to make the score 3-0.

Although just one minute later, substitute player Dau Ngoc Thanh seized the opportunity very quickly to bring back a goal to reduce the score to 1-3 for U16 Vietnam, however that was all that coach Vu Hong Viet's students could do. The match ended with a score of 3-1 in favor of U16 Australia in a quite convincing manner.

With this result, U16 Vietnam is still not sure of a ticket to the final round and must wait for the results of the other groups that finished competing today.
