'Seizing' 138.4 hectares of protective forest land, former district secretary in Binh Dinh prosecuted
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kim, former Secretary of Vinh Thanh District Party Committee (Binh Dinh province) was prosecuted for investigation of the crime of "Taking advantage of position and power to influence others for personal gain" related to the "acquisition" of more than 138 hectares of protective forest land.
On the evening of March 28, Colonel Huynh Bao Nguyen, Deputy Director and Head of the Investigation Police Department of Binh Dinh Province Police, said that the unit had initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and banned Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kim, former Secretary of Vinh Thanh District Party Committee, from leaving his place of residence to investigate the crime of "Taking advantage of position and power to influence others for personal gain."

Specifically, according to the conclusion of the Binh Dinh Provincial Inspectorate, former Secretary of Vinh Thanh District Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Kim wrote his own application, forged signatures, and helped with land allocation documents for 5 cases, all of which were related, including: his sister, 3 nephews, and son (there were 4 cases that later transferred, with the final result of more than 138 hectares of protective forest land going to Mr. Kim's household and his 2 sons).
Of the total 138.4 hectares of protective forest land, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kim's household has 85 hectares and his two sons Nguyen Dinh Son have 30 hectares, Nguyen Dinh Ngan has 23.4 hectares.
Currently, more than 138 hectares of protective forest of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kim's family have been confiscated.
