Teacher advises students on "4 shoulds and 3 don'ts" before the national high school exam
Worried that his students were about to "pass the gate", the young teacher wrote a board of rules reminding them to avoid staying up late and to eat properly.
On June 19, 12th grade students of Ernst Thälmann High School (HCMC) finished their review session for the national high school exam in preparation for the exam taking place early next week.
Worried that students do not know how to maintain their health and spirit for the most important exam of the 12th school year, teacher Huynh Kieu Viet Lam (Physics teacher) wrote a list of rules "4 shoulds and 3 don'ts" and posted it on his personal page. His message was praised by many students for its thoughtfulness and humor.

4 should
- Go to bed early, practice waking up early (5am). Waking up early does not come naturally, it needs to be practiced into a habit so that the body gets used to the biological rhythm, the mind is comfortable, the spirit is refreshed, from there you can have moments of inspiration to come up with difficult questions or new ideas in a paragraph.
- TTake a 30-minute nap. You will have two consecutive days of exams, and noon is very important to restore your mental alertness. Resting for many days before the exam, if you are used to sleeping 2-3 hours at noon, it is very dangerous. According to statistics, 60% of people miss the exam at noon and 40% in the morning.
- Students should review the general knowledge of each subject, do the practice tests sent by teachers or websites, and study the schedule gradually decreasing from 4am to 3pm and 2pm.
- When it's time for the exam, receive the test, take a deep breath, and skim through it (you have 15 minutes to read the test). Do the easy questions first, the difficult ones later, theory first, exercises later, and write down any questions you're in doubt about or haven't done yet so you can come back to them later.
3 don'ts
-Staying up too late, especially the night before an exam. The idea of staying up with the World Cup until the morning of the exam is always a serious mistake.
The school bell rang, signaling the start of the exam period. Not far away, a young man was still mumbling in his sleep, "Mom and Dad, I passed the university entrance exam." His mouth was full of saliva, one leg dangling carelessly next to the bed. The gentle sunlight through the crack in the door continuously shone on his tired face from staying up until 3am.
And the result will be next year's exam season.
- Eat strange and slightly sensitive foods for the intestines (bun dau mam tom, bun mam, sushi, fresh food...).
Exams are already a difficult journey for you, so don't make it more difficult by sitting in the exam fidgeting because of the feeling of "floating water hyacinth". What mind is in to do the exam?It also makes the teachers and supervisors suffer when they have to follow their students to the toilet every 5 minutes. What a sin.
- Limit going out except for really necessary things. In the past, martial arts called this "closed-door cultivation". This is to help you reduce outside influences.avoid "unexpected trouble"(bubble tea, blockbuster movies, traffic jams, heavy rain, floods, strong winds, fallen trees...) focus on studying.
Mr. Lam said that every day of exam preparation, teachers remind students to remember the above things, but today is a day off so he is not at ease, afraid that students will be distracted. "I am writing this, hoping that students will laugh heartily and remember to have the best health and spirit for the exam," the 33-year-old teacher shared.
