Teacher in remote area prays for no rain because he loves his students
(Baonghean.vn) - Not only the people in the flooded areas but also a teacher at Pa Khom village, Tri Le 2 Primary School, Tri Le commune (Que Phong) is also praying day and night for the rain to stop because he feels sorry for his students. The early winter rains have made the dilapidated classrooms even more dilapidated. The students with thin clothes have to sit in the rain right in the classroom.
Class clip recorded by teacher Luong Trung Thanh with phone:
In the past few days, many people have been moved by the message “Oh my God! Please stop the rain and wind from wetting all the children’s books” along with a video posted on his personal page by teacher Luong Trung Thanh, Tri Le 2 Primary School. Teacher Thanh said that the video was filmed at Pa Khom school, Tri Le 2 Primary School.

In recent days, due to the influence of the Northeast monsoon, cold air has been flowing in, causing cold rain to soak the desks, chairs, blackboards, and books in the classrooms. The video also clearly shows this. To prevent rain from splashing into the classrooms, teachers here use cloth to cover the classrooms. But it is still not enough to prevent the strong, cold winds.

Pa Khom is home to 100% Mong ethnic people. This school is currently the place of study for 65 students from grades 1 to 5 in the village. Although, recently, the school has received support from a unit to build prefabricated classrooms for the students. However, the project has only completed the frame, while due to weather conditions and difficult roads, the construction unit has not been able to transport materials to continue construction. In addition, the classrooms at Pa Khom village are made of wood, which has been degraded over time.

Currently, only the frame of the classroom has been completed, because of weather conditions, the construction unit cannot continue. And teachers are worried that this winter it will be difficult for students of Tri Le 2 Primary School in Pa Khom to study in the new classroom. |

The road to Pa Khom village in the rainy season is truly terrifying for anyone who has ever been here. |
“The old school is in a bad condition and it keeps raining like this. When will the new school be completed so that the children can study without rain or wind? I just hope the rain stops soon so that the construction can go smoothly. Winter is coming and it is very cold here,” said teacher Luong Trung Thanh.

Mr. Luong Trung Thanh is a son of the Thai ethnic group in Tri Le commune. In 1999, after graduating from the teacher training college, he returned to teach in his hometown. In 2004, he was appointed as Vice Principal of Tri Le 4 Primary School, which has one of the most difficult roads in the mountainous region of Nghe An.
In 2008, on the way home from school, Mr. Thanh fell off his bike and broke his thigh bone. After the accident, he had difficulty moving around, so the local education department created conditions for him to return to teaching at Tri Le 2 Primary School. With his fluent Mong language, for many years he was assigned to teach at the Pa Khom remote location.
