(Baonghean.vn) - For more than ten years attached to the remote commune of Bao Nam, teacher Dao Chinh Hien has quietly devoted his youth to the noble cause of educating people.

Teacher Dao Chinh Hien, born in 1982, comes from the rice fields of Yen Thanh. In 2006, after graduating from the Faculty of History - Vinh University, Mr. Hien was assigned to teach at Bao Nam 1 Secondary School, now Bao Nam Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School. The school is located in the mountainous commune of Bao Nam, one of the difficult mountainous communes in the border district of Ky Son. From acquaintance to affection, he has become attached, close, and considers the people here as family, and the students as his children and siblings.

Being used to the mountains, forests, and fields, and now having to live far away from their families, their villages, and their relatives, the children really need the attention, closeness, and loving care of their teachers. Understanding this, Mr. Dao Chinh Hien, always struggles with the school's board of directors to find many solutions.

From going to the students' houses in remote villages, walking all day, to directly discuss and persuade parents to send their children to school, to finding and organizing various educational activities for students while at school such as organizing group birthday parties for them, organizing movie viewings, watching propaganda clips about education, preventing social evils, or gathering students to renovate vacant land, cultivate beds to grow vegetables, build chicken and pig coops, to be self-sufficient for the lives of both teachers and students.

As a History teacher, in addition to directly teaching students, Mr. Hien is also an elder brother who teaches, advises, and trains students in a clean and tidy lifestyle in the boarding school. From a seemingly normal habit, such as learning how to fold a blanket, a curtain, or create a garden bed to grow vegetables...

Teacher Dao Chinh Hien shared: “I am a teacher working at a boarding school, which is called a boarding school model, but in fact, this is no different from a boarding school, because the children live far away and have to stay at school. Therefore, teachers like us have to take care of them. They are ethnic minorities, they are already in difficult circumstances, when they are away from their families, they need more encouragement and help, both mentally and materially.

With 11 years of dedication, over the years, teacher Dao Chinh Hien has achieved many results, recognized and rewarded by all levels of the industry. He is an excellent teacher at the district level for 3 cycles, a competitive soldier at the grassroots level for 3 consecutive years; has had innovative experiences at level 3 and 4 consecutive years; in the 2015-2016 school year, he achieved the title of excellent teacher at the provincial level; was awarded a certificate of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in the 2015-2016 school year. Especially in the 2017-2018 school year, teacher Hien was honored to be recognized and awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training.
