After many years of research, Mr. Phan Ke Hien (born in 1990, Dien Thanh commune, Dien Chau district) - currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Electronic Engineering - Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology, has completed a drone to spray pesticides for forestry crops.

To make the device fly easily, use 2 Li-po batteries with a capacity of 5000 mAh each. Mr. Hien said, the most difficult thing is to choose a good and suitable battery so that the device can fly safely. This type of battery currently has to be imported from abroad. |
Lecturer Phan Ke Hien chatted: In our country, the area of pine forests is large. Pine trees have high economic value, in addition to exploiting resin, they also provide wood for construction, making paper... However, the planting and development of pine trees also faces many obstacles, one of which is the problem of pests and diseases on pine trees. There are dozens of types of pests and diseases on pine trees that have been recorded such as: leaf-eating worms, stem borers, shoot borers, pine needle-eating wasps, pine caterpillars... diseases such as: seedling root rot, pine straw disease, stunting disease, pine nematode disease and pine leaf blight disease.

In particular, pine leaf blight greatly affects the growth of pine forests. In severe cases, pine trees can dry out all their leaves and die. To limit the current widespread epidemic, it is necessary to cut down all diseased trees and destroy them to eliminate the source of the disease, causing significant economic damage to mature pine trees.
However, it is very difficult to spray chemicals on mature pine forests because pine trees are tall and large. Spraying chemicals with conventional sprayers is very difficult and dangerous to human health.

The body of the device is made of a sturdy Carbon frame that houses the control circuit and 8 propeller motors. |
So he came up with the idea of researching "Remote-controlled aircraft spraying pesticides to prevent leaf blight in pine forests".This idea uses a type of remote-controlled aircraft that carries a medicine bottle and sprays it from above. With the advantage of flying from above and moving flexibly, the device can help prevent and treat diseases over a large area of forest.

Remote control uses ultra-high frequency waves, range up to 1km. |
On December 26, 2015, Mr. Phan Ke Hien successfully researched "Remote-controlled aircraft to spray pesticides to prevent leaf blight in pine forests".This idea will solve the problem of spraying pesticides from above easily and safely for users.

The drone spraying device is started in the laboratory. The spray solution is contained in a sturdy, safe box. The spray solution compressor is small, light and consumes little energy. |
This device is not only used for spraying pesticides on pine forests, but can also be used to spray pesticides on other types of forest trees, such as fruit trees, tall old trees, and can be equipped with a camera to observe and monitor forest trees.

The topic "Remote-controlled aircraft spraying pesticides to prevent leaf blight in pine forests" by Mr. Phan Ke Hien won second prize for ideas in the 2015 Nghe An Province Youth Science and Technology Innovation Contest.

The drone spraying device has been successfully tested, with small capacity so the chemical tank for spraying is only 3 liters. |
Currently, Mr. Hien is researching to turn the idea into a finished product that can be applied in practice, meeting the needs of users. However, to make a product that can be applied in practice, it requires a large cost. As a young man, his wish is to have sponsors for this project, especially organizations and individuals who can apply the product such as: forest rangers, forestry, agriculture...
