Phan School teachers and students happily welcome students who won prizes at the International Chemistry Olympiad
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 16, despite the pouring rain, teachers and students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and leaders of the Department of Education and Training came to welcome Hoang Nghia Tuyen - a student of class 12A4, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, who had just won a Silver Medal in the International Chemistry Olympiad.

At the welcoming ceremony, on behalf of the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An, Mr. Thai Huy Vinh - Deputy Director of the Department affirmed that this is a source of pride, honoring the educational tradition of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted in particular and Nghe An province in general.
Although the facilities and training conditions are still difficult compared to students in Hanoi, the results that Hoang Nghia Tuyen achieved are the result of the continuous efforts of both teachers and students, the family, and the school's Board of Directors. This is also the first good sign of this year's International Olympic competition in Nghe An province.

Teacher Ngo Sy Thuy - Principal of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted said that Hoang Nghia Tuyen's Silver Medal at the International Chemistry Olympiad has been the school's long-awaited achievement for many years. This achievement once again adds to the achievements of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and enriches the tradition of studiousness of students in the province.
More specifically, this year's International Olympiad is the first time Phan Boi Chau High School has students participating in all three teams: Math, Physics, and Chemistry. Currently, one student of the school is competing in the International Math Olympiad in Brazil, and two students are on their way to compete in the Physics Olympiad in Indonesia.

The 49th International Chemistry Olympiad 2017 was held in the Kingdom of Thailand with the participation of 297 contestants from 76 countries and territories. With an excellent achievement of 4 medals, including 3 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal, Vietnam ranked 2nd overall (after the US team). This result is also the highest achievement of the Chemistry team to date. |
