According to AFP news agency, in a ruling issued on June 12, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco upheld a lower court in Hawaii's ruling blocking Mr. Trump's new immigration ban. However, the appeals court also said the government has the right to review the screening process for people seeking to enter the United States.

“Immigration, even for the president, is not a one-man affair. The president, in issuing the executive order, exceeded the powers delegated to him by Congress,” the appeals court said in its ruling.

The ruling came just before a deadline for states challenging Mr Trump's revised immigration order to submit their views before the Supreme Court makes a final decision on the matter at the request of the White House.

The Moscow City Council accused the protesters of gathering in an unlicensed place, disrupting the Russia Day celebrations in the capital. “We are taking all necessary measures to prevent any provocative actions by protesters that could disrupt public order,” the police said in a statement.

Last week, the diplomatic situation in the Gulf region was as tense as a bowstring with the geopolitical “game” between countries in the region around the main character, Qatar. Qatar has been significantly isolated diplomatically, and its land border (with Saudi Arabia) is sealed.

Early on June 9, Arab countries added 12 organizations and 59 individuals to the terrorism sanctions list, which they said were linked to Qatar. This move has made the diplomatic crisis between Gulf countries and this isolated energy-rich country even more tense.

The US President himself has accused Qatar of sponsoring terrorism. However, the US has also spoken out to ease diplomatic tensions in the Gulf region, acting as a mediator between the parties. Russia and the international community have urged to ease tensions in the region.
