On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution (November 7, 1917 - November 7, 2017), the Russian Communist Party held a solemn parade, recalling important images and milestones of the Soviet Union in the past.
The October Revolution of 1917 was a historical event that marked the birth of the Soviet Russian state. The October Revolution broke out on October 24, 1917 (according to the old Russian calendar), led by the late leader Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and the Bolshevik Party.
The revolution succeeded on October 25, 1917, which corresponds to November 7, 1917 in the current Western calendar. That is why the revolution is called the October Revolution.

On the morning of November 5, the horrific shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, USA shocked the public in and outside the US. At least 27 people were killed and 24 others were injured.
Among the dead were children and a pregnant woman, according to the New York Times. The victims ranged in age from 5 to 72.
The suspect in the incident has been identified as Devin P. Kelley, 26, of neighboring Comal County. Police said he fled the scene in a vehicle but was later found dead in the vehicle. The cause of death is not yet known.

Saudi Arabia on November 4 arrested 11 princes in an anti-corruption campaign in the country.
The arrests came after King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud ordered the formation of an anti-corruption committee, headed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. According to Saudi Arabia's SPA news agency, the committee has the power to issue arrest warrants and travel bans on corruption suspects.
Saudi Arabian media added that the country has appointed new Minister of Economy Mohammed al-Tuwaijri to replace Mr. Adel Fakieh and appointed Mr. Khaled bin Ayyaf as new Minister of the National Guard to replace Mr. Miteb bin Abdullah.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, 32, holds the position of Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia and was chosen as the successor to King Salman's throne since June.

Ms. Audrey Azoulay was nominated to replace her predecessor Irina Bokova (Bulgaria) in mid-October. On November 10, the UNESCO Board of Directors unanimously appointed the French candidate to the position of Director-General of the organization, after receiving consensus from 195 member states.
Ms. Azoulay was born in 1972 and was the former Minister of Culture of France from February 2016 to May 2017. She also held many important positions in the field of radio and television in France, worked for the Court of Audit of this country and was an expert of the European Commission on cultural and media issues.
