* China:Denuclearization deal cannot be reached overnight

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said Beijing would make a general assessment of the second US-North Korea Summit in Hanoi after "hearing official statements from the US and North Korea."

Commenting on the shortening of the summit schedule between the two leaders, the Chinese diplomat said: "We have learned the lessons of the past half century that resolving the issue of complete denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula cannot be achieved overnight."

Mr. Lu Kang added that China hopes that North Korea and the US will continue to carry out dialogues to resolve this issue with seriousness, sincerity, and respect for each other's legitimate interests.

* Former US diplomat:The summit was poorly prepared.

Joseph Yun, the former top US diplomat on North Korea, said the abrupt end of the US-North Korea Summit in Hanoi reflected the fact that "the conference took place without preparation."

"I have attended many summits. Normally, the parties involved will work together at many levels. But this time, we saw very little preparation, and I am worried about that. Before the second US-North Korea summit took place, we talked a lot about Singapore and the failures of the first summit. However, at least the Singapore summit laid the foundation," said Joseph Yun.

* Russian Senator:The US will "pause" to decide on next steps.

According to Kostanin Kosachev, head of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council, US President Donald Trump is not "ready to negotiate with the North Korean leader". For now, the US will "pause" to decide on the next steps: increase sanctions or possibly make other agreements.

"The time factor plays an important role: inter-Korean relations are growing warmer, and important security agreements in the region can be reached without the presence of the United States. All this indicates a certain beginning. Pyongyang is capable of making serious agreements in exchange for real progress," Kosachev wrote on his Facebook page.

Mr. Kosachev commented that in the future, no agreement on complete denuclearization on US terms will be reached.

"Leader Kim Jong-un has clearly expressed his view that an agreement can only be fully achieved when it is binding on the parties involved, and not as a result of sanctions or pressure from the US," said Mr. Kosachev.

Overall assessment of the results of the second US-North Korea Summit, the Russian senator said that President Trump "did not have a plan B in his pocket", and in the coming time, the US leader will "pause" to take the next steps, either to increase tough sanctions, or to find a new agreement.

"It's good that the dialogue between the US and North Korea has not come to the conclusion of 'no return to negotiations'," Mr. Kosachev assessed.

At a press conference in Tokyo, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will have an urgent phone call with US President Donald Trump to get the most complete information about the results of the second US-North Korea Summit that just took place in Hanoi, Vietnam.

"We are urgently gathering information on the details of the second US-North Korea Summit," Suga told reporters.

In addition, Japanese television channel NHK reported that the Japanese Prime Minister held an extraordinary consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs leader about the failure of the second US-North Korea Summit to reach any agreement. Accordingly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was assigned to quickly collect information on the progress and results of the conference.
