"Jurassic World" could earn $162 million in three days.

“Jurassic World” is likely to become the best-performing June opening weekend film ever in North America.

On its opening day, June 12th, the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park series is estimated to have grossed $70 million in its home market of North America. Observers believe the film could potentially earn as much as $162 million over the weekend.

Dinosaurs are taking the cinemas by storm this weekend.

If this becomes a reality, it would be the highest-grossing June opening weekend ever. The current record belongs to Man of Steel, the Superman blockbuster, with $116.6 million in June 2013. At the same time, Jurassic World would have the second-highest opening weekend of 2015, second only to the mega-blockbuster Avengers: Age of Ultron with $191.3 million.

Previously, early screenings on Thursday, June 11th, brought in $18.5 million for Jurassic World. This figure is even nearly $3 million higher than what Fast & Furious 7 achieved in April. It is very likely that Jurassic World's North American performance will surpass that of the seventh installment of the high-speed action film series.

With a production budget of $150 million, the fourth installment of Jurassic Park was screened in 13,551 theaters, a record number in Universal's history. The film was released 14 years after Jurassic Park III, but it seems the dinosaurs haven't been forgotten by fans. This is considered another success for Universal in 2015, following Fifty Shades of Grey and Fast & Furious 7.

In Vietnam, Jurassic World premiered on June 12th under the title "The Dinosaur World".
