"The world will witness the decline of the West."
According to French Islamic expert Alexandre del Valle, the coming years will see the world revolve around conflicts in the Middle East, while simultaneously witnessing the decline of the West.
Political commentator and professor Alexandre del Valle told the French newspaper Atlantico that Western nations will gradually lose their long-standing position on the international stage. “We will begin a century with the gradual and continuous decline of the West. This doesn’t mean that influence will completely disappear, but Western countries will no longer retain their hegemony or influence in terms of ideals or knowledge,” he stated.
According to Valle, in the context of new global civilizations, Western values will become increasingly less valued.

Another important point that Valle analyzed is the emergence of a multipolar world. Clear evidence of this is the strategic rise of Russia and China, the rise of India, and the return of Iran, Turkey, and Egypt to the leading group.
These developments suggest that globalization has not been truly effective and that the world formed after the Cold War will be shaped by the emergence of geopolitical and ideological poles, gradually moving away from Western dominance.
He added: "A new Russia will not allow the Americans or their Western allies to destabilize friendly institutions and attack direct interests in the name of human rights."
Referring to humanity's future challenges, Valle focused on energy dependence. “The Gulf states could become the center of the world and a major financier of Islamic extremism. So there is a link between the fight against terrorism and energy transition,” he said.
De Valle is a well-known French author with right-wing views. He has been vocal in his criticism of those who oppose the US, Israel, and liberalism. However, Valle believes that Russia should participate in a strategic alliance between the US and the European Union rather than aligning with countries opposed to the US.
