Rules of the 'Third Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation, 2023'
(Baonghean.vn) - The contest is a continuation of the success of two political writing contests on "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" in 2021 and 2022 and continues to expand in terms of organization scale and participants.
To continue to promote the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on "strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation", and at the same time effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Central Steering Committee 35 assigned the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to preside over and coordinate with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, the Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the "Third Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation, 2023" (hereinafter referred to as the Contest).
The contest is a continuation of the success of two political writing contests on "Protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation" in 2021 and 2022 and continues to expand in terms of organization scale and participants.
1. The purpose of the Contest is to continue to affirm the important role of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation. To raise awareness and responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations, cadres, Party members and the People for the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
Through the Competition, continue to discover, train, foster and practice skills for the force, form a widespread network to firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation, effectively fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, contributing to protecting the Party, the State, the People and the regime. Improve the quality of political works in newspapers, magazines, radio, television and social networks on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous viewpoints of hostile, reactionary and opportunistic forces, contributing to protecting, propagating and spreading the Party's guidelines, policies and viewpoints, the State's policies and laws, focusing on the contents of the 13th National Congress Documents, the Resolutions of the 13th Central Conference of the Party. Form a rich source of high-quality and highly combative products to directly serve the propaganda work of agencies, units and localities.
2. Contestants are Vietnamese people living in the country and abroad, and foreigners whose political articles meet the criteria of the Contest.
Encourage the participation of cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, workers, students of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Political Schools of provinces and centrally run cities, district-level political centers, cadre schools of central ministries, branches and mass organizations; lecturers, students and trainees of universities and colleges; cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers of central and local departments, ministries, branches and mass organizations; members, teams of experts and collaborators of Steering Committee 35 at all levels; officers, cadres and soldiers of the armed forces; cadres, reporters, editors and collaborators of central and local press and media agencies; union members and youth of central and local union organizations.
For written works, each author/group of authors can submit a maximum of 02 works to the contest, including: 01 editorial article in the Magazine category (Printed Magazine or Electronic Magazine) and 01 editorial article in the Newspaper category (Printed Newspaper or Electronic Newspaper). Each article submitted to the contest includes a printed copy (A4 size) and a soft copy (Microsoft Word format).
Audio and visual works: Each author/group of authors can submit up to 03 works: 01 work in the form of spoken press (radio); 01 work in the form of visual press (television) and 01 work in the form of video clip. Each work includes an audio/visual file and a printed copy of the literary script (Microsoft Word format).
3. The submitted work must be a first-time creative work that has never been published in the media or social networks before the launch of the Contest. Written works must ensure that the non-duplication ratio is as prescribed (no more than 20% duplication for the Magazine category, no more than 25% duplication for the Newspaper category compared to published works of the author/author group or of another author/author group). After submitting the work to the Organizing Committee, the author/author group can post the work on the media but must notify the agency that received the work and send supporting evidence.
4. The theme of the work focuses on fundamental and core issues on the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against current erroneous and hostile viewpoints, such as: the scientific, revolutionary and contemporary values of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought and proposals for supplementation and development; protecting and disseminating the Party's guidelines, policies and guidelines, the State's laws, the cause of innovation, and the path to socialism in Vietnam today; identifying and fighting against and refuting erroneous and hostile viewpoints against the Party, the State, the regime and practices and experiences in organizing the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in sectors, localities and fields.
4. The Organizing Committee will accept entries from the launch of the Contest (February 1, 2023) until July 31, 2023 (based on the postmark). The announcement and award ceremony will be held in October 2023, on the occasion of the 5-year review of the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation".
Authors/groups of authors with works to submit to the Organizing Committee should send them to the following contacts:
- Authors/groups of authors who are cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers of central departments, ministries, and branches send their entries to the focal point of Steering Committee 35 of central departments, ministries, and branches (stated in Section 3, Part V of the Contest Plan).
- Authors/groups of authors who are cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, workers of local agencies, departments, branches and people living in the locality send their entries to the Steering Committee of 35 provinces/cities under the Central Government.
- Authors/groups of authors who are Vietnamese people living abroad or foreigners send their entries to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam (via the Vietnamese Embassy abroad).

5. The Organizing Committee will award prizes according to 03 types of entries: Magazine type, Newspaper type and Radio/Television/Video clip type. Each type includes: 01 Special prize, 03 A prizes, 05 B prizes, 07 C prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes. At the same time, the Organizing Committee will award 15 Excellent Collective prizes to agencies, organizations and localities that have organized and implemented the contest extensively and creatively at the grassroots level, effectively serving the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo at localities, agencies and units; have many products participating in the contest of good quality, of which at least 01 work won B prize or higher.
In addition to the official prize, the Organizing Committee of the Contest awarded 15 Promising prizes to the entries of authors/groups of authors who are union members, youth, and students who entered the Final round and had the highest scores among the entries of union members, youth, and students.
