Two more CDC directors prosecuted in connection with test kit price gouging case
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 31, related to the case of inflating the price of test kits of Viet A Company, CO3 of the Ministry of Public Security prosecuted 12 more defendants with various charges.
Among those prosecuted, the Ministry of Health has 2 officials, including Mr. Nguyen Nam Lien (Director of the Department of Financial Planning) and Nguyen Minh Tuan (former Director of the Department of Medical Equipment and Construction). Both were prosecuted for "Abusing positions and powers while performing official duties". Mr. Trinh Thanh Hung (Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Economic and Technical Sectors, Ministry of Science and Technology) was also prosecuted for the same crime.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh (Director of the Center for Disease Control, CDC Nghe An) and Nguyen Thanh Danh (Director of CDC Binh Duong) were both prosecuted on charges of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences".
The remaining people were prosecuted for "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences", including Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham (Chief Accountant of Nghe An CDC), Tran Thanh Phong (Deputy Head of Finance and Accounting Department of Binh Duong CDC), Le Thi Hong Xuyen (Binh Duong CDC Laboratory), Tieu Quoc Cuong (Chief Accountant, Deputy Head of Finance Department of Binh Duong Department of Health), Nguyen Truong Giang (Director of VNDAT Company) and Nguyen Thi Thuy (Sales Staff of VNDAT Company), Le Trung Nguyen (Regional Director of Viet A Company).
Thus, so far, 3 CDC directors have been prosecuted in connection with this case. Previously, the Ministry of Public Security prosecuted Mr. Pham Duy Tuyen - Director of CDC Hai Duong and Nguyen Manh Cuong - Chief Accountant of CDC Hai Duong for the crime of "Violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences". Mr. Tuyen is currently also prosecuted for the crime of "Accepting bribes".
Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security is continuing to expand the investigation into related individuals and units to clarify the nature of the case, the element of self-interest...; reviewing, seizing, and freezing the assets of the subjects to ensure thorough recovery for the State.
