More evidence that Africa is being torn apart
A giant crack about 15m wide and several kilometers long has just been discovered in Kenya, further evidence that Africa is splitting in two.

Dr. Lucia Perez Diaz of the University of London (UK) said the crack occurred along with geological activities, causing part of the Nairobi-Narok highway in southwestern Kenya to collapse.
On the sheetDaily Mail, experts say cracks in Kenya are spreading with easily felt geological activity. This is a sign that Africa is splitting in two.

Scientists point out that most of the African continent lies on the African plate but the eastern part of Africa lies on the Somali plate.
The place where two plates meet is calledGreat Rift Valley, about 3,000km long from northern Syria, Southwest Asia to central Mozambique, East Africa. This is where geological activities often occur when two plates interact with each other.

According to Dr. Lucia Perez Diaz, in the next ten million years, the valley will gradually crack completely when the two plates move apart and split Africa in two, causing parts of Ethiopia and Somalia to become islands, thereby forming a new sea.

This scenario happened about 138 million years ago when a large land mass split apart to create what is now South America and Africa.
