More Vietnamese players go abroad to play
Former Hai Phong FC center back Diep Hoai Xuan has just officially joined Phnom Penh Crown FC, one of the leading football clubs in Cambodia.
After an unsuccessful trial with Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club, central defender Diep Hoai Xuan (with dual Vietnamese-Cambodian citizenship) has found a new destination for the 2019 season. Accordingly, the Khmer player will play for Phnom Penh Crown Club in the Cambodian National Championship (C-League).
Previously, Hoai Xuan won the BTV Cup with the mountain town team. However, he then suddenly went to Cambodia to train with his old team Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC with the hope of shining in the C-League to be called up to the Cambodian national team.

It was thought that the player born in 1992 would play for Kirivong Sok Sen Chey FC - where he used to be the captain - but surprisingly, on February 18, Phnom Penh Crown Club announced the signing of a contract with this central defender.
By moving to play for one of the top football teams in Cambodia, Diep Hoai Xuan will have more opportunities to realize his dream of playing for the Cambodian national team in the future.
Hoai Xuan is a player with 100% Vietnamese blood. In 2015, following the advice of the Kirivong Sok Sen Che club's leadership, Hoai Xuan decided to obtain Cambodian citizenship under the name Ream Serng to compete as a domestic player to help the team gain an advantage in the relegation race in the second leg of the 2015 Cambodian National Championship.
According to GOAL's research, there are also many Vietnamese players playing in Cambodia. Some typical cases include the Keo Sokpheng - Keo Sokngon brothers or former midfielder of Tay Ninh Club Lam Hue Dung.
